Yesterday, our team participated in the Siisti Biitsi day, which is part of the nationwide program by the Pidä Saaristo Siistinä Association. In addition to cleaning the beaches, the campaign aims to collect valuable data on the quantity and types of litter found, as well as raise awareness of the extent of the issue.

In just a few hours, we collected a total of 1,285 pieces of litter from Hietsu Beach and its surrounding areas. The most common item was cigarette butts, with a staggering 630 found. Other frequent types of waste included plastic, paper, cardboard, and snus pouches. All the litter on the beaches negatively affects the ecosystem, which is why it is crucial to gather data and work toward reducing littering in the future.

At Sarake, we are strongly committed to responsibility and sustainable development. It is important to us to be involved in concrete environmental efforts and to promote nature conservation.

Together, we can make small actions that have a big impact. We warmly thank all participants and encourage everyone to continue taking action for the environment!
